Having a Victim Mentality is the #1 Problem for those who are addicted to ritualized prayers. Their thinking goes like this:
“If God is the sole authority on what happens, then I am helpless. There is no use fighting against God and Fate. All I can do is pray to God and hope he or she will be moved by my pleas, my propitiation, and my tears, to grant me an easier life.”
Such thinking leads to a feeling of helplessness, and to a lack of personal power – in other words such a person feels like a victim.
He feels he is forever doomed to be a victim to God, to Fate, and to circumstances, as well as to others who have greater power, or at least claim to have greater power. People like prophets, kings, ministers, religious leaders, political leaders, and the local community head.
Thinking thus only admits to our own feelings of powerlessness.
But the fact is, we are not powerless. We have been gifted with the power to dream of a goal and work toward it! In fact, that is the very reason for our existence on earth.
